TheOneWP Changelog for New Features

Each entry in the TheOneWP changelog explains which modules and capabilities were introduced in a specific version. Major and minor releases may include new WordPress administration, content, SEO, security, access and utility tools.

Bug Fixes and Security Updates

  • Backup Manager: Added custom backup names, coloured labels, notes, dynamic placeholders, editable metadata, and portable backup information preserved across exports, imports, restores, and scheduled backups.
  • Snippet Manager: Added integrated code search, snippet duplication, multi-category support, manual ordering, multi-item drag and drop, double-click editing, improved category management, static file serving for CSS and JavaScript snippets, and numerous editor and usability improvements.
  • File Manager: Added integrated code search with match counting, keyboard shortcuts, case-sensitive search, and optimized navigation for large files.

  • Backup Manager: Fixed licence information being included in backup archives and corrected progress reporting near the end of backup operations.

  • Library Importer: Fixed delayed drag-and-drop behaviour caused by WordPress admin page transitions and resolved layout spacing issues.

  • Preview Links: Added a new module to securely share unpublished content through private token-based links with optional expiration, password protection, view limits, access logging, automatic revocation, and noindex protection.
  • Post Type Converter: Added a new module to safely convert content between post types with taxonomy handling, slug and parent cleanup, optional Redirect Manager integration, and fully reversible conversions.
  • Backup Manager: Added a complete backup, restore, and migration module with full, database-only, and files-only backups, live progress, encryption, incremental backups, schedules, retention, exclusions, remote storage, and serialized-data-aware search and replace.
  • Hide Author Slug: Added a new module that replaces public author usernames with random, non-guessable slugs while preserving author archives and leaving the stored user nicename unchanged.
  • Cover Email Address: Added a new module to protect email addresses from automated harvesting through encoded output, an optional mailto shortcode, automatic content replacement, and logged-out-only protection.

  • Unified Interface: Redesigned the plugin interface with consistent panels, rounded controls, pill tabs, gradient actions, improved dialogs, semantic status colours, and preserved dark-mode support across all major screens and modules.
  • Settings: Modules are now listed alphabetically, descriptions have been expanded, active-module arrows appear immediately, duplicated header logos have been removed, and settings screens now behave more consistently.
  • Module Pages: Improved dedicated page headers so titles and actions align correctly with the content area and no longer conflict with WordPress Screen Options and Help tabs.
  • Dialogs: Improved stylesheet cache handling, hover states, numeric inputs, choice cards, switches, danger headers, spacing, animations, and action alignment across shared plugin dialogs.
  • Maintenance: Added automatic daily log cleanup with configurable retention, readable audit logs, improved cleanup reporting, new log sources, better card layouts, and audit entries for cleared logs.
  • Two-Factor Authentication: Disabling the module or removing a role now asks whether existing credentials should be retained or deleted, with affected-user counts and audit logging.
  • Custom Sort Order: Added scheduled content support, readable WordPress status labels, scheduled dates, improved badges, faster initialization, full-row dragging, stable placeholders, and better pointer feedback.
  • Custom Content Columns: Added a direct management badge, larger drag targets, improved placeholders, better cursor behaviour, WordPress 7 transition handling, and a larger responsive Featured Image preview.
  • Clone Content: Reworked the cloning workflow with an accessible modal, AJAX parent selection, safer validation, block-aware media duplication, clearer options, shared notifications, improved performance, and better large-site compatibility.
  • Media Categories: Improved dialog scroll locking, sidebar spacing, direct page rendering, drag-and-drop behaviour, category targeting, live updates, and overall Media Library integration.
  • Mail Manager: Updated the Sender, SMTP, and Advanced section headings to match the softer visual style used throughout the plugin.
  • Backend Font: Improved font loading so the selected admin font is prepared locally, preloaded, and displayed without blocking or visual flashing.
  • Admin Menu Organizer: Renamed the admin menu entry from Menu Organizer to Admin Menu Organizer.
  • Backend Pages Generator: Renamed the admin menu entry and page heading from Backend Pages to Backend Pages Generator.
  • Drag-and-Drop: Reorderable items now switch to the grabbing cursor immediately when pressed across all supported modules.
  • Performance: Backend-only modules are no longer constructed on public requests, reducing loaded classes, PHP code, and registered callbacks while preserving cron and frontend-dependent features.

  • Media Categories: Fixed pointer flicker, delayed Media Library rendering, grid-view dragging, accidental attachment opening after drops, category targeting, stale sidebar counts, broken bulk actions, and inconsistent drag badges.
  • Module Settings: Removed unnecessary separator lines that appeared above the first field in some module option panels.
  • Two-Factor Authentication: Fixed role switches so the module now applies only to selected roles, and bundled the QR code library locally instead of loading it from a third-party CDN.
  • Clone Content: Fixed modal layouts, parent searches, stale AJAX responses, lost selections, invalid assignments, duplicate submissions, incomplete validation, fragile media rewriting, partial artifacts, failed rollbacks, stale locks, simultaneous clone requests, password loss, and misleading page-builder media results.
  • Admin Menu Organizer: Fixed the first drag occasionally appearing unresponsive after navigating from another WordPress admin screen and improved sortable measurements and placeholder sizing.
  • Backend Font: Fixed font flashing and removed repeated third-party font requests by serving the selected font locally.
  • Settings Pages: Fixed notices briefly appearing inside plugin headers before being repositioned.
  • Custom Sort Order & Custom Content Columns: Fixed the owning admin menu opening and highlighting too late after the page had already rendered.
  • Custom Admin Menu Width: Fixed widened admin menus overlapping Query Monitor, Freemius notices, plugin dialogs, and other fixed-position panels, including related stacking issues.
  • Custom Sort Order: Fixed the reset dialog close button colour and improved stylesheet dependency handling.
  • Notifications Offcanvas: Fixed admin notices briefly flashing in their original position before being moved into the off-canvas panel.
  • Settings Search: Fixed module search highlights returning after a page refresh.
  • Drag-and-Drop: Fixed dragged elements appearing offset from the pointer because of lingering page entrance transforms.
  • Remove WP Version: Fixed a type error when WordPress passes null or empty values through script and stylesheet URL filters.
  • Custom Admin Color Scheme: Fixed inaccurate built-in scheme previews, unsaved palette changes, incomplete custom colour rendering, and delayed recolouring of third-party SVG menu icons.

  • Site Password Protection: Improved the security of the password gate form by adding CSRF protection, so the form now requires a valid security check before it can be submitted.
  • Utilities: The `Utility` settings tab has been renamed to `Utilities` in the admin menu and page title for better consistency.

  • Media Visibility: Added a new module to control which media files are visible to specific user roles.
  • Media Visibility: Media files can now be hidden from the Media Library and the Add Media modal.
  • Media Visibility: When Media Categories is active, entire media categories can also be hidden by role.
  • Media Visibility: Hidden media files are no longer counted inside visible category totals.

  • Local Avatar: Added a new module that lets users upload and manage their own profile picture.
